The BURT Roll-Through labelling machines provide precise, repeatable, clean labels to round glass, metal, plastic, and cardboard composite containers. It labels containers of various sizes, too, from tuna-style cans up to 2 gallons pails at speeds ranging from 20 to 600 Containers Per Minute (CPM).
A BURT adjustable labeler gives you the advantage of being able to change from one size can to another in just minutes. This flexibility is especially important in a rapidly changing market, where new can sizes are added regularly. Changeovers are engineered for efficiency and can be completed with just a wrench in 15 minutes.

BURT and its History of Innovation
The Burt Machine Company was founded in 1894 as a manufacturer of horizontal roll-through labeling machines. Easy to operate and maintain, these robust labelers were popular for both the accuracy and cleanliness of the label application. That reputation continued through the decades, as the Burt Machine Company changed hands several times before joining Barry Wehmiller, now BW Filling and Closing in 2002.
Since joining BW Filling & Closing, the innovations have continued, while never leaving behind the legacy of precision and reliability for which they are known. Now available in a 6.2 model, which adds a Servo motor for greater efficiency in label placement. The Servo also eliminates the need for hydraulic units, which provides a more hygienic process for the food and pharmaceutical markets. The 6.2 upgrades from a mechanical to an electrical VFD, creating easier maintenance and more precise speed control. It also adds industry-leading HMI controls, giving operators realtime feedback and assessment data from a single, centrally located operations point.
Products, Markets and Speeds for BURT
Wrap around paper, paper-backed foil and laminate labels are applied with glue and paste for an accurate and clean looking final product. A BURT easily handles labeling challenges such as 2 and 3-piece containers, aerosols, and containers with bails. In fact, our expertise in accurately aligning ears and ear holes reliably has made this labeling workhorse popular with paint manufacturers.
With the option of an automatic or semi-automatic machine and the possibility to do batch labeling with single label infeed or to run continuous labeling with a dual label infeed, these machines can be customized with even more applications like container handling options, container orienteers, automatic lubrication, different glue and paste applicators and so on.
