About Can Seaming Machines
How does a Seamer work?
The objective of a Can Seamer machine is to hermetically combine the can body to the can end component (otherwise called can lid). Both the body of the can and the end component are prefabricated, and the Seamer machine is only responsible for combining these two components into one.
ANGELUS Seamers perform what is called "Double Seam", which ensure the hermetically sealing of the two components of the can. This technique created an airtight closure by interlocking the layers of the cans. Whether the seaming is metal-to-metal or metal-to-composite, double seaming prevents leakage and ensures shelf-life of the product.

How does the Seamer integration work?
Our Seaming Machines can be integrated in any food, beverage, chemical, pharmaceutical, home and personal care production line. The seaming machine can be in stand-alone or synchronized configuration.
When the Seamer is in stand-alone configuration, it does not drive the filler rotation, and it is not synchronized with the filler, but the filled cans are delivered at random (either manually or through a grouping table) to the seamer. These cans are infed to the seamer through a conveyor belt with a spacing mechanism to make sure that the filled cans enter the seaming turret at the right time.
When the Seamer is synchronized with the filler, it also drives the filler, to ensure the correct speed alignement between the Filling machine and the Seaming machine. The Filled cans are transported with a conveyor belt, equipped with the correct technology to make sure the cans have the correct spacing between them to be delibered to the Seaming turret with the correct cadence.
